EspansoExpress is a match editor for Espanso users. It provides a GUI (graphical user interface) to edit matches from a match file. It is aimed at users who would prefer a GUI to the TUI (text user interface) of a text editor.

EspansoExpress is the most advanced Espanso GUI editor to date. Key features include:

User advice

EspansoExpress provides a GUI alternative to a text editor for creation and edit of Espanso match files. Match files created and modified with a text editor should not be used with EspansoExpress.

EspansoExpress includes an option in the Tools menu for backup of match files in the active folder to a ZIP file. As a precaution, it is recommended that you use this option on first use of EspansoExpress.

Files that are created or modified in EpansoExpress are listed with a specific icon as show here for the files ee_test*.yml:

These files are tracked in each folder with a JSON file named ee_metadata.json.
